Drums of Unity: Mirror Group Network Welcomes PM Nabanja at Kampala City Festival
On a bright and festive day at Kololo Independence Grounds, amidst the colors, music, and energy of the Kampala City Festival, the Peaceful Coexistence and Entertainment team from Mirror Group Network stood tall as proud ambassadors of cultural unity and community resilience.
The team had the special honor of welcoming the Guest of Honour, the Right Honorable Prime Minister Robinah Nabanja, to the event. Their warm reception came not with words alone, but with the resounding beat of traditional Ugandan drums, celebrating the beauty of diversity, togetherness, and peace.

“The sound of the drum is more than music, it’s a heartbeat of our people,” said one youth performer, his face glowing with pride.
This performance was not just for show. It symbolized the core mission of Mirror Group Network to promote peaceful coexistence among refugee and host communities in Uganda through art, education, and empowerment. The organization’s participation in such a national event demonstrates how local initiatives can make a national impact using culture as a tool for healing and inclusion.

Mirror Group Network is proud to be part of building bridges between communities, generations, and leaders. The presence of the Prime Minister added a national spotlight to the ongoing work being done on the ground every day from vocational training and psychosocial support to creative expression.
Why It Matters to Donors
This moment at the Kampala City Festival was more than a performance. It was a message of hope, a sign that grassroots peacebuilding matters, and that even in festive moments, the work of transformation continues.
As we continue our work in the heart of Kampala and beyond, we invite donors, partners, and well-wishers to walk with us. Your support enables these young people to not just perform — but to lead, to inspire, and to unite.
